Analyst

Joan Boenigk has over 35 years experience in the professional services industry supporting executives and managing business operations.  Twelve of those years she worked as a Defined Contribution Specialist for a retirement benefits services company where she fulfilled many responsibilities, including: compliance testing, collecting and analyzing census and asset data, completing timely government forms and preparing report summaries. 

Joan, a trained medical assistant, has profound knowledge of medical terminology, insurance claims procedures and hospital billing processing.  Along with her proficient computer and communication skills, Joan is an exceptional addition to the Retirement and Actuarial team at Cowden Associates.  Joan also provides administrative support to the Compensation, Health & Benefits, Investment Advisory and Workforce Management teams. 

Joan completed the PA-1 exam of the Pension Administrator’s course, and has completed several courses through Robert Morris University towards earning her CEBS designation.  She earned an associate’s degree at the Community College of Allegheny County.
